Dramatic Ski Living in Upstate New York

The 4,500 square foot space was bland space for a family of four to enjoy on those snowy weekends. With a burst of color, a reconfiguration of the rooms, and an opened main living space, the house functioned in an entirely new way. NFI created a hotel-like vacation destination that sleeps 15 comfortably. We wanted it to be a bit dramatic but entirely functional. Nothing too precious in this ski home. All the materials are meant to withstand wear, and serve as the ultimate entertainment house.

The brief: create a vacation destination for a family of four and all their friends to enjoy.

The Basement of our Dreams

A once uninspiring, cold basement, because one of the best places in the house. A designated movie room with tiered levels allow a sense of theatrics and somewhere to lounge for hours. The basement guest bedroom feels like anything but with space to sleep 6, luxurious textiles, high-end wallpapers, and wall-to-wall carpeting.
